Spravato® (Esketamine) Treatment
Spravato® (esketamine) is an FDA-approved treatment for adults with treatment-resistant depression, offered at Dominick All-Heart Wellness Center as part of a structured, medically supervised psychiatric care plan.
At Dominick All-Heart Wellness Center, Spravato is provided within a calm, supportive environment, with careful monitoring and coordination with each patient’s broader mental health care.
What Is Spravato®?
Spravato® is a prescription nasal spray derived from esketamine, approved by the FDA for the treatment of depression in adults who have not experienced adequate relief from standard antidepressant medications.
Unlike traditional antidepressants, Spravato® works through glutamate pathways in the brain rather than serotonin alone. It is not a take-home medication and must be administered in a certified medical setting under direct supervision.
Why We Offer Spravato®
We offer Spravato® as part of our commitment to providing evidence-based options for individuals whose depression has not responded to conventional treatments.
At Dominick All-Heart Wellness Center, Spravato® is integrated into comprehensive psychiatric care that emphasizes careful evaluation, safety, and ongoing clinical support.

What to Expect
Initial Evaluation:
Your care begins with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation to review your mental health history, prior treatments, current symptoms, and overall appropriateness for Spravato® treatment. This evaluation helps determine whether Spravato® is a suitable option and allows time to discuss questions, expectations, and next steps.
Treatment Sessions:
Spravato® is administered onsite in our clinic under FDA-mandated REMS guidelines. Each visit includes medical monitoring before, during, and after administration. Because Spravato® may cause temporary changes in perception, alertness, or blood pressure, an observation period is required following each session.
Patients must arrange transportation home after treatment, as driving is not permitted on the day of administration.
Ongoing Care and Follow-Up:
Spravato® is provided alongside ongoing psychiatric care, including medication management and follow-up visits as appropriate. Response to treatment is monitored over time, and adjustments are made based on individual progress, safety considerations, and clinical judgment.
Most patients begin with twice-weekly treatments for the first four weeks, followed by weekly or every-other-week sessions based on response
Spravato® (Esketamine) vs IM-Ketamine Intentional Therapy
While both involve ketamine-based treatments, they are distinct:
-
IM-Ketamine Administration: Ketamine is administered via intramuscular injection in a medically supervised setting. Patients are monitored throughout the experience to ensure safety and comfort.
-
For patients who may not qualify for Spravato or prefer a different approach, we also offer IM-Ketamine–based treatment options
-
-
Spravato® (esketamine) is an FDA-approved nasal spray administered under a REMS program and is often covered by insurance.
Your provider will help determine which option best aligns with your clinical needs, treatment history, and goals.
Safety and Monitoring
-
Administered only in a REMS-certified clinical setting
-
Medical monitoring during each visit

Observation period following administration

Clear protocols for managing side effects or concerns
